Preparing for AI is like Preparing for a Triathlon
As Mike Tyson once famously said, \"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.\" Even the most meticulous, sophisticated preparations for AI or a triathlon can fail when reality hits. I\'ve seen triathletes spend hours and hundreds of dollars on equipment to prepare for triathlons. There is structured training, feedback, intense workouts and good nutrition. But on race day, the difference between preparation and reality can often be significant. So many things happen in an actual triathlon that you can\'t prepare for. Maybe you carb loaded too much and get cramps. Or suddenly there is a hill much bigger than you anticipated. Often, these issues can hurt your performance or even end your race prematurely. This is also true with AI. There are so many magnificent AI planning and structuring tools. On paper, AI plans look perfect. But when an organization goes live, reality and preparation couldn\'t be more different. That is why involving your people and matching their real capability and understanding with any AI plan is critical for success. Bridging reality with perfect planning is vital. Wonderful plans mean nothing if there is a chasm between plans and reality.
