People Won't Change if They Feel They are Losing Control
Much has been written about how to change people in an organization. Most attempts fail because the advice is academic. What really works is addressing the feelings of people going through change. One such feeling is the fear of losing control. This fear, along with the fear of failure, loss of predictability, and being pulled out of one\'s comfort zone, can only be addressed through the right iterative process. They need time to \"work through it\" to understand how change will affect their personal lives - what they gain and what they lose. If people are not confident they will retain control after the change, they won\'t change.
