Being Laid Off can be a Great Opportunity

Employees seem to live in an age of anxiety & stress. With so many rumors about AI and restructuring, no one knows if and when they might be laid off. But in a sense, this might be one of the biggest opportunities in your career - if you know what you excel at, and what others will pay you to do. People often hunt for jobs backwards. They look at what is available without first deeply asking themselves what they are great at doing. That is likely to lead to a job you are familiar with, but does not cater to your strengths. So you might settle for more pay but have a less enduring career. The insight is to be honest and know what you are great (and not so great!) at doing, then look at the marketplace for those who need your skills. Who knows. If you change corporate jobs often, with deep self knowledge, maybe your calling is to be an entrepreneur!
