Are We Failing to Deliver on AI Expectations
Often, clients call me when their transformational projects are not delivering. In the past, these projects included re-engineering, restructuring and organization change. Today, the focus is much more on AI transformation. Despite all the wonderful benefits of AI most of us have experienced, it has not yet delivered on its trillion dollar promise. We need to start seeing enterprise-wide solutions that impact the bottom line over time. We need to see AI used at scale to drive substantial profitable growth, not just isolated cost savings, funny AI generated video-clips, and individual user productivity. Is it happening? Are we on track? I read that it is happening and I see the success statistics published by consultants involved in the projects, but I don\'t see it with my clients or in the bottom line - yet. The problem of course, is that the clock is running and investors are growing impatient. You can see it in earnings calls, when companies request more investment in AI or deliver growth spurts that are not sustainable and require reinforcement through increased advertising. Check back at the end of this quarter. It will be interesting.
