Get Rid of Complexity. Don't Use AI to Manage it

AI is great at sorting through tons of information, records and facts. It can streamline processes and it never sleeps. This is especially true for activities such as customer service. But I wonder is AI solving the real problem? The real problem is that we have way too much complexity involved in what we do. The real solution is not to paper over it with AI, the real solution is to stop doing stuff. In my 30 years of work as a management consultant, I have seen huge accumulations of unnecessary work. The trouble is we never eliminate anything. So stuff piles up and and there is more unnecessary, irrelevant work. The same can be said for processes, people and work in general. We have layers upon layers of meetings and task forces that are either outdated or redundant. Yet we still practice them as if they were important. Rather than implementing AI to improve efficiency, maybe the right thing to do is stop doing unnecessary work.
