Disconnecting to Reduce Stress
My favorite flight is alone from Bangkok to New York because for 23 hours, it gives me a chance to disconnect from the world and be by myself and to think (or not). Solitude is important. With all the stimuli hitting us from world conflicts to job responsiblities to family issues to constant bombardment of social media, it is easy to get swept up in other people\'s priorities and to lose yourself. This long flight where I have nothing to do but think by myself allows me to sort out my life and remember what is important. This filtering is the key to balance and self confidence. It has a calming effect and is so stress reducing. Without it, one can easily forget who one is and one\'s worth and purpose in life.
